An objectified female body. A male desire. A product. A history of conveyer-belt like fulfillment of dreams. Of lust. A shell. A role. A female reality discussed and frowned upon for decades. With Hanna’s new piece we are invited to understand that the era of objectification is over. Shot in the forehead. The future is female. And “no” means fucking no. Behind the genitals, the norm, the staged hetero-normative realities, we see a human being outweighing male desire. We face humanity. We are reminded that behind every wig, every shade of lipstick, every layer of nail polish, there is more to the body than it being a sexual phantasy; that women are more than a sexual phantasy. Humanity is lived outside of rooms equipped with golden couches, Jacuzzis and showers to wash potential life away. We are like phoenixes to be resurrected out of the ashes. We die to be reborn in pleasure. Facing a female desire for the sake of itself and for pleasure in its purest sense. We are invited to celebrate female sensuality truthfully given and enjoyed by oneself and for the sake of itself. The piece can be categorized as autobiographical, however, it is offering hope and pleasure in an otherwise dark episode of mankind – to be transformed into “womankind”.We are reborn with hope. We are reborn with pleasure. We are reborn to be free. To be ourselves.

Hanna’s piece “Room No 504” offers the possibility of humanity lived outside of rooms equipped with golden couches, Jacuzzis and showers to wash potential life away. We are invited to celebrate female sensuality truthfully given and enjoyed by oneself and for the sake of itself.
